Waste Sorting Facility

  • A waste sorting facility – designed to separate and classify collected waste into different categories, such as recyclable materials, organic waste, and non-recyclables.
  • The main goal – to maximize the recovery of valuable materials—particularly items that can be recycled or reused—while minimizing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
  • The recyclable waste will be sold to designated off-takers.
  • These facilities are a key component in achieving zero waste to landfill targets and promoting a circular economy, where materials are continuously reused, repurposed, or recycled to reduce environmental impact and resource consumption.
  • Embarking into Circular Economy
    • Waste management & segregation
    • Reduce waste to landfill
  • Challenge and Issue
    • 90% organic waste
    • OPEX RM780k/year
    • Discharge of wastewater or waste from 25 industrial areas along the Klang River
