Site Visit & Progress Update – SMG Flood Mitigation Project
On 16 June 2025, SMG together with our associate company, Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLBSB) hosted a site visit and media engagement session to provide a progress update on the Klang River Rehabilitation & Flood Mitigation Project.
Since 2018, we’ve been committed to cleaning and restoring the river.
Water quality has improved from Class 5 (heavily polluted) to Class 3! River capacity has been increased by 18%, with a target of 40% to improve water flow and enhance flood resilience.
Attendees were also brought on a guided boat tour along the river to witness firsthand how the flood mitigation efforts are being implemented on-site.
Pollution begins with us — but so does the solution. Let’s stop waste at the source, recycle responsibly, and protect our rivers for generations to come.
