LLSB and The Ocean Cleanup Strengthen River Cleanup Efforts in Selangor

Yesterday, the LLSB team hosted The Ocean Cleanup for a site visit across three key rivers in Selangor, namely Sungai Buloh, Sungai Selangor and Sungai Langat.
The visit was part of our ongoing collaboration to explore how we can expand river cleaning and rehabilitation efforts beyond the Klang River, helping to protect more waterways across the state.

We also discussed the potential installation of log booms at several upstream locations to intercept floating waste and stop pollution from travelling downstream and reaching river mouths by the end of 2026.

It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Boyan Slat, Founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, who joined the LLSB team during the visit as we continue strengthening our strategic partnership towards cleaner rivers and a healthier environment.

Together, we move one step closer to protecting our rivers and ultimately, our oceans.
