LLSB and LUAS Unite Agencies to Set Strategic KPIs for Klang River Restoration

From 16–18 January 2026, a total of 31 participants took part in the River Conservation Workshop for the Klang River Cleaning Initiatives, co-hosted by LLSB and LUAS.

The event was officiated by Pn. Haslina Binti Amer, Ketua Penolong Pengarah, Bahagian Pengurusan Lembangan Sungai & Pantai LUAS and also was held in the presence of En. Syaiful Azmen Bin Nordin, Managing Director of LLSB.

The workshop focused on setting clear direction and KPIs for Klang River cleaning efforts, aligning roles among local authorities, state agencies and related departments to develop a detailed five-year action plan. Discussions also addressed enforcement challenges and possible intervention measures, while strengthening inter-agency collaboration to support long-term effectiveness.

Agencies involved in this workshop included UPEN, JPS, PTGS, PDTK, PDTP, MBPJ, MBSJ, MBSA, MBDK and MPM. All together, this collaboration aims to support more coordinated and sustainable river cleaning initiatives for the Klang River.
