Pioneering Engineering Solutions: SPS Application for Flood Mitigation at Seksyen 24

On 17 March 2026, LLSB conducted a site visit to review the progress of riverbank strengthening works using the Schematic Precast System (SPS), the first installation of its kind along Sungai Klang, near the ongoing flood mitigation project at Seksyen 24, Shah Alam. The system is an innovative modular solution designed to provide stronger, more efficient, and durable protection, especially in challenging river conditions.

Compared to conventional methods, SPS allows faster installation, better cost efficiency, and requires minimal maintenance. Its suitability for weak or water-saturated soil makes it ideal for flood mitigation and river rehabilitation projects. This also marks the first multi-layer application of SPS technology in Malaysia, showcasing LLSB’s adoption of advanced engineering solutions.

The visit was attended by YB Dato’ Ir Izham Hashim, EXCO of Infrastructure and Agriculture, together with representatives from JPS Selangor, UPEN, MBSA, the Batu Tiga Assemblyman, LLSB’s management team, and Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd.

This collaboration reflects a strong commitment to delivering effective flood mitigation solutions in line with modern engineering practices.
