River Educational Trip

Enjoy the Diversity of Flora and Fauna along Klang River

Overview

The River Educational Trip programme is a community-inclusive project, carried out in collaboration with Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan Pelabuhan Kiang through Kiang River Taxi Resources, as a way to:

  • Boost activity around the Kiang River
  • Create income opportunities for the local community/fishermen
  • Educate people on river pollution & conservation and its impact on the environment.

COMMUNITY UPLIFTMENT IMPACT:

  • The river educational programme has become an alternate source of income to the local fishermen operating the boat trips
  • Furthermore, it has provided an opportunity to build awareness on river pollution and how much effort is put in to remove trash that end up in the river.

 

EDUCATION IMPACT:

  • Those who join the river programme will be able to witness first-hand how essential the river is to the livelihoods of many people, as well as for the survival of the diverse flora and fauna.
  • Additionally, they also get to see the mechanisms behind the river cleaning — log booms & Interceptors.

DOs & DON'Ts

  1. NO plastic bottles / containers are allowed. Please bring your own water bottle and
    feel free to refill it with us.
  2. Please ensure that mask is worn at all times except during a food break.
  3. Please wear shoes and strictly no slippers.
  4. Dress properly and accordingly.
  5. Do not remove your safety jacket while on the boat.
  6. Children aged 12 or below, should be accompanied by parents/ guardians.
  7. The number of pax per boat shall not exceed the maximum allowed capacity
